Our Story
Stars and Stripes Dog Rescue was established in memory of Dustin Duane Aimes who unexpectedly passed away on October 16, 2021, while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Dustin's dream was to one day have his own Dog Rescue. His passion and love for dogs has become the driving force behind our mission at Stars and Stripes Dog Rescue. We know he is looking down on us and encouraging us to push forward to rescue and train as many at-risk shelter dogs and to find them loving homes.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit with 100% of donations going to the care, training, and maintenance of the dogs.

"Dusty" 9/1/21
On September 1, 2021, Dustin’s rescue German Shepherd gave birth to a litter of puppies. Every couple of days after the puppies arrived Dustin would ask me if we wanted one of the puppies. Each time I responded with, “We have 2 Great Danes and no room for another dog.” After he passed, we felt we needed to take a pup as a way to stay connected to him. Dusty (his namesake) came to live with us on her 7-week birthday. She has a goofy personality and is extremely intelligent. She fits in with the family; now that our other dogs realize she isn’t just visiting.
We decided, Dusty would be our first “official” Stars and Stripes Dog Rescue dog and would go through PTSD training. We will be documenting her progress in both FaceBook and our website so our followers can share in her development.
